My Journey

Almost exactly 2 years since I left Zambian soil, I will be stepping foot on the African continent once again!  This time, I am headed to Namibia, a country bordering Zambia to the southwest.  I will be serving for 5 weeks with Children of Promise Ministries, an organization ministering to children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS through foster care, education, and other various ministry initiatives.  Check out their website for more info: http://www.childrenofpromiseministries.org/, as well as this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zibFFntdnwc.  I am taking this trip both to fulfill an internship requirement and to gain more clarity regarding the type of ministry and location the Lord may be calling me to long-term.

Will you join me in praying that the Lord would be preparing me for what He desires to do in and through me this summer for His glory and my good?  Please pray specifically that my time of preparation leading up to this experience would be meaningful, bathed in prayer, and above all God-centered; please pray that I would not get lost in the details but keep my focus on Christ alone.  Please also pray for the children, youth, families and staff that I will interact with during my time there, that the relationships He allows me to build with them would continually point them back to Christ and not myself, and that He would use me to make an eternal impact.  May He help me to embrace humility, humor, flexibility and a posture of learning.  Lastly, please pray that throughout the experience and once I return, the Lord would begin to illuminate His next steps for me.  Thank you!

For His Glory and Because of His Love,

Steph

2 Corinthians 5:14-15: " For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."
